I mean this hand is actually between Sexton and Matusow (and it shows Sexton making one of his famous superstar calls against the mouth bluffing his busted flush draw) — but I mean the light of the vid is Daniel who actually yells “POWNED” at the end of it… I mean he pronounces the P and all… Good stuff!
The Mouth takes it like a man — great poker (and a great table btw!)

Look at the call Daniel makes with his gutshot and king high draw… This must be the most excellent call I’ve seen Daniel make on the World Poker Tour. It’s only a million to call in a big pot — but still… I’d probably fold it.
EBJ tries — and fails. Enjoy the vid!
PS. This episode was shot at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas! Poker, a crazy world!

Daniel and John Juanda both hit a set of jacks on the flop — Cheryl Hines is in between with a BIG BIG draw — and the hand unfolds unexpectedly: Daniel makes a star laydown laying down his set — obviously waiting for a better moment to get his chips in (preferrably against one of the amateurs in this Pro/Am Equalizer format).
Still — what a laydown, I don’t think I could have made it…
I’m sure Erick Lindgren and Phil Ivey were happy to miss this flop hehe

Daniel versus Sam Farha — and I’m not too happy with how Daniel played this hand… I mean, he should have raised on the flop imo…
He did bet the turn, but not enough — he could have known Sammy was drawing, seeing as he bets everything…
Excellent fold though, on the river.

This is not Daniel showing he’s the best at predicting cards. This is just extremely amazing coincidence, but that doesn’t make this video worse…
I feel Jerry’s pain though, his nut flush was taken down by Daniel’s Straight Flush — pretty sick!
Anyway, still, Daniel sucks out against Jerry in the 2005 National Heads Up Poker Championship — always fun when you’re on the right side of the hand.
This would so get people tilting.

This is absolutely awesome poker. Keep in mind it looks like both players are playing the same game here, but they’re NOT. Mike is nothing close to Daniel’s stack, and he’s risking a great position (and being knocked out) in the tournament against the chip leader with just top pair and close to no kicker.
I think this is NOT Mike Matusow at its best — something a few people are saying in the youtube comments. Daniel is right to call Mike insane to risk all his chips with a pair of nines. A little bit of donkament by Mike the Mouth if you ask me… But he gets away with it

Daniel runs over a hand played on High Stakes Poker season 3, where he played his pocket nines to perfection against Daniel Shak (Q/10). Excellent footage — enjoy!

I can see the pain in Danny’s eyes when he talks about a hand that just didn’t make any sense to him (check out the sick cold deck hand between Daniel Negreanu and Gus Hansen right here!)… Daniel sums it up in the end: “That was tough”.
That was tough for everyone watching too, Daniel. That would have been an impossible laydown — cold decks aye!
If only this was the only cold deck situation for Negreanu in High Stakes poker…. : ( Gus Hansen really benifited from this one — but more were there that season (and others!)

This hand is probably one of the most talked about hands on the internet. In total, the hand has been viewed over 2 million times on Youtube, and the reason why is dead simple; it’s one of the biggest pots ever to be shown on television, and it’s a prime example of a cold deck situation, this time with Daniel Negreanu on the receiving end of the beating.
What adds to the greatness of this hand is the excellent commentary by Gabe Kaplan, who gets rightfully so gets extremely excited…
I hate to see Daniel go “huh?” when Gus moves check-raises all-in on the river… I really do feel his pain. Poker can be a tough game.
(anyone noticed Antonio folding AQ pre-flop? Amazing… :))
